The procedures in this technical sheet involve electrical wiring and installation of the 903-324 Headlamp Wink Module. If you are unsure of any procedure, lack the proper tools, or are uncomfortable performing electrical work, do not proceed and seek out a qualified Classic British Repair Facility.
Always disconnect the battery before beginning installation. Incorrect wiring, loose connections, damaged wiring, or improper routing may cause intermittent operation, damage to the headlamp motors or module, or affect the vehicle's lighting system. Keep wiring and the module away from moving headlamp mechanisms, sharp edges, and heat sources. Ensure all connectors are fully seated, and wiring is securely fastened before reconnecting the battery and testing the system.
The person performing the work assumes all responsibility for the use of the information contained in this document
Required Tools
- Phillips screwdriver
- Trim removal tool (optional but helpful)
- Wire routing tools (coat hanger/fish tape helps)
- Electrical tape / zip ties
Before starting: Disconnect battery.
Access the headlight motors
- Pop the hood
- Locate each headlight motor assembly (behind each pop-up headlight)
- You’ll see a factory wiring connector going into each motor
Disconnect factory connectors
- Unplug the connector from the headlight motor
- Do this on the side you’re installing (or both sides if dual module)
Install the JASS module inline
- Take the JASS module harness and plug it into the car harness into JASS module input then plug the JASS module output into the headlight motor
Route the control wire into the cabin
- The module includes a wire for the toggle switch. Route this through the firewall. Use an existing rubber grommet (common near steering column)
Avoid sharp edges and hot areas
Install the toggle switch
- Mount the switch somewhere accessible:
- Dash panel
- Center console
- Blank switch location
Connect the switch to the module’s control wires (usually pre-labeled)
Secure everything
- Zip-tie the module and wires away from:
- Moving parts (headlight linkage)
- Heat sources
- Ensure connectors are fully seated
Reconnect power
- Reinstall the RETRACTOR fuse (if removed)
- Turn ignition ON
Test operation
- Turn headlights ON/OFF normally → verify stock function still works
- Flip the new toggle switch:
- One headlight should go up/down = “wink”
- Dual module → both can be controlled depending on setup
Common mistakes / tips
- Wrong connector orientation → module won’t work (just flip connections)
- Pinched wires in headlight housing → causes intermittent issues
- Bad ground / loose switch wiring → inconsistent wink behavior
